I have been playing around with the idea of sewing a simple two person x-mid style trekking pole tent. My design is taller using short extensions on the ends of the trekking poles. All fabric sections are flat with straight sides making cutting and sewing simple. The tent is an outer pitched silnylon shell with open floor. Inside you can suspend a single or double inner made of lightweight summer insect mesh, and a winter version made with more solid fabric. Weight goal for winter inner and outer plus pegs in 2.5 lbs. Weight for camping without inner during bug free season or location, 1 lbs.
